Katy helps individuals feel more calm, confident, and in control. She works to help clients unearth and eliminate old, outdated patterns that leave them exhausted, anxious, or depressed. They rewrite the scripts, identify strengths, and build skills, so clients can heal and live into the person they want to be for this next chapter of their lives.
Katy takes a humanistic approach to this work which recognizes the client’s innate strength and wisdom. She works with clients to create lasting change, because the world needs what each of them has to offer.
She is EMDR trained and draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), positive psychology, and brain science.
She has spent the last 25 years in some form of advising, mentoring, coaching, and counseling. She is a Master of Social Work in clinical psychotherapy from the University of Iowa and an indomitable champion of individual potential and the human spirit.
She spent her early career as a wealth manager, attorney, and mediator. She has a BA in Philosophy and Art from Northwestern University and an MBA/JD in strategy from the University of Iowa.
Above all, Katy is a seeker of how we live the good life and began counseling to help others on their journey toward a healthy, meaningful life lived from the inside out.
