Transparency in Mental Health Care Costs
We believe in clear, upfront communication about the cost of your mental health care. Under the federal No Surprises Act, we’re required to provide you with a Good Faith Estimate of your expected therapy costs when you’re paying out-of-pocket or choosing not to use insurance.
Your Rights Under Federal Law
You have the right to know what you’ll pay before you receive care. Whether you’re uninsured or choosing to pay privately, we will provide you with a comprehensive estimate of your therapy costs.
When You’ll Receive Your Estimate
- Advance scheduling: Your estimate will be available during our intake process or upon request
- On-demand: You can request a Good Faith Estimate at any time before beginning or continuing treatment
- Comprehensive coverage: Your estimate includes all scheduled services such as individual therapy sessions, couples counseling, family therapy, psychological assessments, and specialized evaluations
Understanding Your Estimate
Your Good Faith Estimate is designed to eliminate billing surprises and help you make informed decisions about your mental health care. Here’s what you should know:
This is not a contract or guarantee. The estimate represents our best prediction of costs based on your anticipated treatment plan. Your actual costs may vary depending on:
- The specific therapeutic approaches that prove most effective for you
- Changes in session frequency as determined by you and your therapist
- Additional services that may become beneficial during treatment
- The overall duration of your therapeutic journey
Your treatment plan is collaborative. We work with you to develop a care plan that meets your needs and respects your budget. We’ll discuss any significant changes to your treatment plan that might affect costs.
Protection Against Surprise Bills
If your final bill exceeds your Good Faith Estimate by $400 or more, you have options.
The federal government provides a patient-friendly dispute resolution process at no cost to you. You can initiate this process by contacting:
